Safari: Ceramic Floor Tiles Inspired by Zebra Leather

Unique and Elegant Design for Modern Spaces

Inspired by the original surface effects of zebra leather, the Safari collection aims to bring the decorative textile temperature of the room to modern spaces. The designers have adapted the elegant designs found in animal skin to create a unique and visually striking ceramic floor tile.

What sets the Safari collection apart is the use of digital printing technology and glazed porcelain technologies. This allows for the creation of a uniform large-sized animal leather effect texture on the tiles. The result is a floor that exudes sophistication and adds a touch of nature to any space.

The Safari collection is made using digital printing technology and glazed porcelain technology. The tiles are produced in a standard size of 60 x 60 cm, making them suitable for a variety of spaces and applications.

The design team, led by Tolga Berkay and the Bien Seramik Design Team, worked closely with relevant departments throughout the design stage to ensure the future production steps and assembly components were carefully studied and implemented.

The Safari collection was developed in Bozüyük, starting in July 2016 and finishing in January 2017. It will be exhibited at the Unicera Fair in March 2017, showcasing its unique design and innovative production techniques.

Extensive research was conducted to capture the essence of zebra leather and translate it into a ceramic floor tile. The designers examined the natural patterns and textures of wild animals, particularly the sumptuous costumes they possess.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was achieving a natural skin-like texture with digital decor effects and normal glaze. The design team successfully overcame this challenge by creating rich and diverse patterns that mimic the unique characteristics of zebra leather.

The Safari collection not only brings the comforting feel of natural leather to your living space but also offers the added benefit of a non-slip surface. The aged, relief structure of the tiles ensures safety without compromising on style.

It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Building Materials and Construction Components Design category in 2017.
